Sixteen years ago when we started Jesus Solid Rock, we didn’t feel it necessary to solicit donations from the public or even the church.

The priorities for Christian giving should be this:

The hierarchy of Christian giving.

I practice, and encourage New Covenant giving. I believe in financially supporting the work of Christ, which means taking care of our household and immediate family first, meeting the urgent needs of believers (especially those in our local church), helping widows and orphans in their distress, providing material support for evangelism, clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, and providing material support for spiritual leaders who are Biblically-qualified and truly in need.

I say all this because most Evangelical work tends to have that hierarchy upside down. We don’t want to be like that. We Believe that providing for your family should be the very first thing you should be investing in. Secondly, We Believe that meeting the needs of the brothers and sisters in your assembly should be next.

So, before you think about donating to Jesus Solid Rock, I encourage you to make sure that you’re meeting the needs of the poor among you and among your household of faith. After which I would gladly receive any contribution towards the work of Jesus Solid Rock.
